I was excited to see that the Harvard International Review, the magazine where I used to hold the position of Web Editor, now has its own blog, entitled The Big Picture.

I first noticed the magazine when I received a complimentary copy in the freshman mailing. I can recall being impressed by both its professional writing and by the fact it came on glossy paper (unless most of the other publications, which were distributed on newsprint), but I did not join the staff until January or February of my freshman year. I regret not "comping"[1] the magazine earlier, as it became one of my most favorite extracurricular activities.

[1] Comping is a Harvard term describing a process of applying to join an organization. It is half-competency, half-competition.
