This week: Ashcroft resigned, Arafat died, Firefox 1.0 came out - with a customized start page, GMail got POP3 access, and the Nader/Camejo people responded to the email I sent them several months ago.

On a hopeful note (at least for those who do not want the world to end anytime soon), Ashcroft's resignation is surely a political maneuver rather than acknowledgement of blame, Sharon's government does not plan to change its tactics, there was a new zero-day hole in Internet Explorer, GMail still does not have IMAP access (that would allow users of other email clients to take full benefit of its gigabyte storage space), and the Nader/Camejo people sent me a form response (that included the hope that I had voted for them - obviously, I did not).
