Warning: this entry is a bit geeky.

Recently, it has become a bit of a habit-cum-obsession for me to browse Dell's website and look at prices for various custom computer configurations. When looking at desktops, I normally start with a Dimension 8600. Early yesterday morning, I decided to use their new model, a Dimension 8400 as the starting point for my dream computer. Not only does it use a new Intel chipset, the i925, but it also include a PCI Express slot. While the machine is a lot cheaper than I expected (considering that it was only a few months ago when I first heard of PCI Express), I am still going to wait a while to buy one.
